Care
When pure wool carpets are new, they shed hair. The reason is that wool fibres are relatively short, they all begins in spinned yarn but ends in different places. In the process of usage yarn in fringe unrolls and the carpet becomes softer and fluffier but the shortest fibres separate. As the carpet is thicker and with longer fringes as longer and more intensively it sheds hair.
So, there is possibility that on completely new carpet can emerge small fluffy tangles or some of wool yarns can stretch out longer than others. Don’t worry, that only testifies that this carpet for sure is natural product. Fluff should be sucked in with vacuum cleaner but the yarns that are longer than others cut with sharp scissors till the level of other wool.
Shedding hair is not a sign of poor quality. The carpet that is regularly cleaned with vacuum cleaner after some time will stop to moult.
It is suggested to clean woollen carpets with vacuum cleaner regularly–it will not only remove dust but also will “comb” the rug.
Then and now it is wise to vacuum clean carpet from the back side or bring it outside and beat out.
Compact, correctly cleaned carpet doesn’t let dust in the depth; they accrue on the upper part. That’s the reason why carpet should be cleaned to flatter.
If it is cleaned opposite direction the dust is pushed between fringes.
If there is a desire to vacuum the deepest layer of the carpet as well first of all neatly two or three times should be cleaned upper level to flatter, only then carpet can be cleaned opposite feather direction, but at the end upper layer should be vacuum cleaned again.
It is not recommended to put furniture on fluffy woollen carpet because furniture’s legs will leave the marks that are not possible to remove after a longer period of time. If you have decided to put some furniture on woollen carpet anyway it is suggested time after time to move it a little bit and to ruffle compressed places in the carpet.
Cotton carpets can be washed with hands or in washing machines in 30 degree temperature. But of course, most convenient way to clean any carpet is at drycleaner’s.
Leather straps and cowhide carpets can be cleaned only by dry cleaning – vacuum cleaning, mechanical shaking or at drycleaner’s.

After storage or movement in the rolled up way, it is suggested to heavily shake out the sheepskin in order to make it fluffy. After a few days after unpacking skin, the marks of folding will disappear.
It is suggested to storage the sheepskin in cool, nicely ventilated place and avoid the sun light. Don’t storage the sheepskin packed in polyethylene or plastic packages, because the wool will not be able to breath and that can lead to appearance of humidity.
Sheepskin can be washed by hands or in washing machine in saving conditions using detergent that is meant for wool laundering. BOWRON recommends detergents that have in its structure lanolin. In no case use clothes softener! Twist the sheepskin after washing by hands or in saving conditions in the washing machine.
It is suggested to dry sheepskin in outspread form and avoiding from direct sun light or sources of artificial warming (radiators or heater).
Don’t iron or decolour sheepskin!
Useful Issues!
- There are two main options how to incorporate carpets in interior – match tonally and stylistically or vice versa – by notably emphasizing.
